STEREOLAB: SPIRAL SCRATCHES
Welcome to Spiral Scratches, a
small site dedicated to the wonderful world of Stereolab's vinyl releases.
This is, I hope, a full Stereolab vinyl discography. Apart for cataloguing every
release, I've also included a number of white label pressings,
autographed records, mispressings and oddities from my own collection for interest.
If there's anything missing or needs correcting please contact me at...
pooh@titanicfandalism.co.uk.
With regard to the LPs, rather than collecting every version of each album, I have just included either the rarest, most interesting or the first/original pressing in each case. The exception to this is where the album was
released in several different coloured vinyls i.e. Refried Ectoplasm (clear and orange) or all three versions of Not Music
(clear/green/blue) etc.
On each format page if you click any of the record covers you will get larger
scans and
images of the sleeves, vinyl, labels etc. If there is no link then it's either
not one I'm going to add or haven't been able get hold yet - most things are
here though.
I couldn't have put these pages together without the existence of Stereolab's own
official site and the fantastic Ultra-High Frequency fansite, both for mapping out the full
catalogue of recordings which has been invaluable
in providing information about each release. Thank you very much to both
sites for such accurate and comprehensive information and I hope that you are
both OK
with what I've attempted here. Thanks also to Martin Pike at Stereolab's
HQ for much appreciated help/advice, Pat from France for the
Stunning Debut Album multicoloured 7" scan, nsc283b for the photos of the
Jenny Ondioline clear vinyl 10" and the Eaten Horizons...LP, Basil for
information, Graeme Smith for the Shimmies in Super 8 numbers 1 & 3,
Spectrum/Stereolab split 7" and Jenny Ondioline mispressed 10" scans and
information, kafkaislove
from the Stereolab forum for the Polish Postcard flexi images, Bruce at
IPR, Jeff W for the Wow & Flutter sleeve images - and the
other good folk on the forum for additional information about some of the releases. I hope that the site is of interest
to fans of the band and/or anyone who just loves vinyl. Both Stereolab, and
vinyl, are
very splendid things indeed. ENTER
Cheers
